How to choose the ice cream machine for your home?

Choosing your ice cream machine is a fundamental step for those who want to make their own ice cream at home.
Let’s start by excluding a priori toys under 50 euros that don’t work well at all and that grind frozen fruit transforming it into a frozen mousse.
From 50 to 150 euros you can start to find ice cream makers equipped with a basket to put in the freezer which will allow you to get closer to the world of homemade ice cream. The operation of these machines is very simple: a previously frozen basket in your home freezer will transfer the cold to the mixture that will become your ice cream. This type of ice cream maker is very limited by the refrigeration life of the basket and will allow you to produce only one ice cream in small quantities.
The most expensive ice cream makers are those with an on-board motor that will independently cool your mixture achieving the best results and giving you the ability to produce more ice cream. Those with steel blades are preferable to those with a plastic stirrer block.
In my opinion, a good car can cost from 300 euros and excellent ones from 800 euros upwards.
I have a Frigomat ice cream machine worth several thousand euros which makes the difference, an old Gaggia ice cream maker which after many years is still working fine and lastly a Vevor ice cream maker which does its job but not as well as the top of the range ones.
For dark bars and restaurants you need to get a top of the range ice cream maker whether new or used.
